RE Curriculum Overview

The Religious Education curriculum at Bishop Ellis aims to provide a solid foundation in the Catholic faith, encouraging students to deepen their understanding and communicate their beliefs with confidence. It promotes curiosity by inviting students to explore challenging questions while critically engaging with the Church’s moral and social teachings in relation to contemporary society.

Teaching other World faiths

We teach Christianity through the R.E. scheme ‘Come and See’. Our aim is to systematically cover four other major world faiths: Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Islam. These other major worlds faiths are included in and planned for in the ‘Come and See’ scheme as part of the ‘other faiths’ resources.
