Monday's Gospel Worship
Every Monday, we gather together as a whole school to take part in Gospel Worship which is delivered through Microsoft Teams. This reminds us that even though we are keeping to our own bubbles, we are still very much part of the whole school Bishop Ellis family and we are still able to Worship together collectively. To ensure our class is still included in this week's Gospel Worship, I have attached the liturgy which will be shared with the whole school on Monday.
Every week, NDCYS (Nottingham Diocesan Catholic Youth Service) release a new video which shares information about what is happening in the liturgical calendar this week. Click the link to watch the video.
Praying The Rosary
The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions.
Try to make some time this week to pray. The best way to celebrate this month of the Rosary is, of course, to pray the Rosary. There is a guide attached below if you would like to use it at home to guide you in prayer.
Our Mother, Mary
We often ask Mary to intercede for us in times of trouble and uncertainty. We can ask for her support and guidance through different prayers. Below, you can read some different prayers to Mary which you might like to use this week.
There is also a video of some children signing the Hail Mary if you wanted to have a go at learning the signs.
How do I meditate?
Sit down. Sit still and upright. Close your eyes lightly. Sit relaxed but alert. Breathe calmly and regularly.
You could listen to one of the songs below to guide you through a 1,2 or 3 minute meditation.
It is recommended that you use the prayer-phrase MA-RA-NA-THA. Recite it as four syllables of equal length. Listen to it as you say it, gently but continuously.
Do not think or imagine anything - spiritual or otherwise. If thoughts and images come, these are distractions at the time of meditation, try to put them out of your mind and focus on your breathing
