Our Class Pages
Bishop Ellis Catholic School is continuously developing an exciting, enjoyable and challenging curriculum based on key skills and deepening of knowledge, which allows the children to be actively involved in their learning and prepares pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. Children have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learnt, which are presented through the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons.
The school curriculum reflects the requirements to provide a broad and balanced curriculum as per the Academies Act 2010, and the National Curriculum programmes of study which we have chosen to follow.
It also reflects requirements for inclusion and equality as set out in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice 2014 and Equality Act 2010, and refers to curriculum-related expectations of governing boards set out in the Department for Education’s Governance Handbook.
Further information on how we achieve this can be found in our statement of equality information and objectives, and in our SEND policy and information report.
Please take a look at how it works in practice in the key stage pages below.
