Liturgical Season: Easter
Queen of Heaven
“To serve the Queen of Heaven is already to reign there and to live under her commands, is more than to govern.” Saint John Vianney
The Assumption of Mary into Heaven is the bodily taking up of Mary, the mother of Jesus, into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. The Fourth Glorious Mystery of the Rosary meditates upon this and the Fifth is The Coronation of Our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth. God gives Mary a special place in heaven, crowning her Queen of Heaven and Earth for her special role in our Salvation. Mary, as the mother of Jesus guided him in his ministry and was there at his death on the Cross. She is a role model that we look up to and try to be like with kind actions and words.
Prayer: Queen of Heaven, rejoice. The Son whom you were privileged to bear has risen as he said. Pray to God for us. Rejoice and be glad for the Lord has truly risen. Amen.
