Today, we would like you to read chapter 17. Keep adding to your word bank of vocabulary and find definitions of new words. Create a storyboard to show the main events of chapter 17. What are the key events? You may start with event 1- Ruth and Jan worked to save money for Edek’s shoes. We have attached an example of a storyboard below or you can create one of your own.

Today, we would like you to look again at chapter 17. We would like you to consider how Edek is feeling throughout the chapter by considering the questions attached. Then we would like you to complete the vocabulary activity below. When you have finished, use a thesaurus (there is a link to an online one below) to find synonyms for the words given

Friday 5th February
Spelling starter- Today, we would like you to choose some of this week's spelling words. Remember how we practise them at school.

- write them with your eyes closed
- write them in different colours
On Monday, we are going to write a letter from Edek to Ruth and today we would like to prepare for that. Begin by looking at the storyboard from earlier in the week and list the key events. Start from page 94 where it says Edek was determined. List the events that follow. Look again at chapter 17 and create a word bank of vocabulary that Edek uses. Look at the example letter below. This was written by a child last year. Complete the letter plan below, considering,
- A greeting to Ruth
- Explanation of what happened along with feelings
- Thoughts on Jan
- What Ruth should do next
