We've all arrived safely and had a tour of the site. The rain did not hold us back as we explored our surroundings. We have just been to dinner and the children have filled up on sausages and mash or lentil curry or steak and mushroom pie. The doughnuts for pudding were a big hit! We are just spending a bit of time in our rooms and getting ready for tonight's activity. We are going to wrap up warm for stories around the campfire and toast marshmallows.
Fingers crossed that everyone sleeps well ready for tomorrow when we will be raft building, orienteering and embarking on a vertical challenge.
The children have all slept well and were pretty much asleep by 10pm. We've all woken up to much better weather today and have enjoyed a range of activities this morning. Just heading off for jacket potatoes for lunch!
Everyone slept brilliantly last night. The children have been amazing and let us teachers sleep too! This morning, they have built a buggy and ridden it. They've also had a go on the zip wire. Just had a lovely lunch of fish fingers or vegetarian sausage roll with chips and beans. The children are really enjoying the salad bar and we have been really impressed by the children's food choices. Kayaking this afternoon!
This afternoon has been an action packed kayaking session as you can see in the photographs above. The children were all incredibly brave, even when a little nervous, and everyone managed to get out on to the water. We used our 'frogs-legs' and prince/princess poses to keep our balance as we paddled and weaved across the lake. We played some hilarious games which involved us getting just a little bit wet... after a nice hot shower we headed to dinner where we enjoyed a choice of chicken curry and rice, pork chow mein and spinach and ricotta cannelloni followed by a tasty apple crumble. Just off now for Robot Wars and looking forward to another early night after tiring ourselves out with the activities today. What brilliant fun we are having!
Once again, everyone slept brilliantly last night. This morning, we've all had a lovely surprise; Miss Mould has arrived to spend the day with us. We've had a busy morning doing a sensory trail and Jacob's ladder. The children have been really brave and given everything a go. We've just had baguettes or wraps for lunch with a variety of fillings and of course a visit to the salad bar. The sun is shining and we are all having a great time.
