Learning through Forest School

Do you know the story of Percy and the Park Keeper 'After the Storm'? Well, a terrible storm blows down all of the animals houses and they have nowhere to live! We decided to help the animals by building them new houses. We then labelled them to make sure the animals knew where to go.

As you can see from the photos, the children showed high levels of engagement and well-being, loving being out in the woods, working together to solve problems whilst developing their physical skills and their literacy skills. This is a perfect example of how Forest School can help develop the holistic child, which is crucial for our children to become happy children and then successful adults. And its great fun!

We have had a wonderful time learning about Fairy Tales. We finished our topic with our famous Fairy tale Ball and even had a special visit from Prince Charming, who took some time out of his busy day of rescuing princesses. He even parked his dragon outside in our car park! He was so impressed with the children's dancing he awarded all the children with a golden coin. Here are some photos from the fantastic event. The children all looked amazing! Thank you to Lily and Erin who came and took photographs for the School Council. Watch out for their report coming soon! Doesn't Mr Jackson look dapper?!

We have been very busy this week! We have been practising writing, sorting people, learning new songs, reading stories with our friends and making faces, among lots of other exciting things!
